Description
In this capacity, the Technical Writer revises or writes material that is mostly standardized for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. The incumbent receives assignment and technical information from a supervisor or senior writer, may be provided notes or manuals containing operating procedures and details, and may observe production, developmental or experimental activities to expand or verify the provided operating procedures and details.
• Collect, review, and analyze documents in order to make recommendations to the Government.
• Develops, revises, distributes and maintains custody of torpedo documents, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and other technical documentations, as identified by the government, concerned with work methods and procedures, installation, operations, and maintenance of torpedoes and related components.
• Writer may also provide administrative and technical support to the torpedo department.
• Upon request, writer may create draft reports.
• JAVA understanding desirable
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to successfully obtain an Active Security Clearance
- Ability to create original content for SOP’s, strong understanding of various types of technical documentation, strong oral and written communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Navy Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport technical writing experience.
• MS Office proficient
• Ability to work in a team environment
